The candidate gave up the Labor coalition governor, A.A. , in Jigawa State, Hajia Bint Omar Yahya, for the People’s Democratic Party, the Democratic Progressive Party.
The gubernatorial candidate stated this while speaking at a People’s Democratic Party rally in the Birnin Kodu local government district.
She said the decision came after broader consultations with party supporters.
According to her “I am Binta Omar Yahya, candidate for gubernatorial position of Jigawa State AA, I have dropped my candidacy and joined PDP with all my supporters.
“We have decided to join forces with the People’s Democratic Party to save the state and the country from the present hardships that the NTC-led administration has inflicted on Nigerians.”
However, Penta directed all of her followers to vote for the People’s Democratic Party during the presidential and gubernatorial elections.
Upon receiving the AA candidate and her supporters, Ali Digensa, PDP President of Jigawa State, assured that they were given equal rights as other party members.
He urged them to work for the victory of the party in the next general elections.
