Living Faith Church Worldwide President Bishop David Oyedepo said on Thursday that Nigeria does not need a leader but a savior.
The fiery man of God made the remark during a sermon in the ongoing Shilo program at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun state.
Oyedepo, who lamented the current security and economic crisis, said he had warned Nigerians against voting for the current government in 2015.
He said, “I think I am moved by the spirit that we need to pray for this nation. I warned this nation in 2015 that we were heading towards crisis and trauma, and many were washing their mouths. They are stopping today.”
“God does not require consensus to raise a prophet. I cried seeing a nation fall into the gutter. There are many political prophets who speak what they want to hear.
“I have been so silent, what we need now is not a leader, it is a savior. There is almost nothing left except a church that can be called a nation.”
Labor presidential candidate Peter Obi was also on the night segment of Shiloh 2022 on Thursday.
He received a standing ovation after being introduced by the Deputy Head of the Ministry, Bishop David Abiye, on the third day of the program.
