The HDP’s presidential candidate in the just-concluded general elections, Atiku Abubakar, said they were ready to form an alliance with Peter Obi of the Workers’ Party.
Atiku made the claim while speaking during a press conference on Thursday.
“I don’t think we will have any problem if he (Obi) wants dialogue with the HDP – either forming an alliance or not,” he said.
Obi was Atiku’s running mate in the 2019 presidential election.
However, this time, both men were fighting for a PDP ticket before Obi moved on to LP.
Atiku placed second in the poll behind declared winner Paula Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, while Obi came in third.
The two men go to court to contest the official results of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
