2023 Elections: Presidential candidate from the Social Democratic Party defects from the APC, endorses Tinubu
Mrs. Chisnapmiyelo Nohu Akinova, former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, defected on Wednesday to the All Progressives Congress, the General People’s Congress.
Announcing her defection at a press conference in Abuja, Nuhu Akinova said she would join the APC to provide support to the party and its presidential flag-bearer, Paula Tinubu.
Nuhu Akinova, National Coordinator of Ahmed Tinubu’s Inclusive Movement, said that she believes Tinubu, by him, is the right man to be the country’s next president.
She added that the group thus endorses and extends its support to Tinubu and Senator Kachem Chitema, his vice president in the February 25 presidential election.
Addressing reporters, she said: “My support group and I invite the electorate to endorse and vote to elect Tinubu as the next president of the country.
“We are here because we have found someone who sees what we see and feels what we feel. This is evident in the way he has dealt with the liquidity crisis we are currently experiencing.
“It is none other than Bola Tinubu, Gagaban, the presidential candidate of APC and hopefully the next president of the country.”
She added, “We support Tinubu for his exceptional qualities and abilities. I was a presidential hopeful in the SDP before I got out to join that unstoppable moving train, the APC.”
Nuhu Akinova added that Tinubu’s achievements when serving as governor of Lagos State as well as his innate ability to build men and make use of resources are there for all to see, adding that Nigeria will be magnificent under his presidency.
