The leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kawura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mustafa Amodu on Monday called for urgent security of the lives and property of not only voters but all those who will participate in the electoral process in February.
Mostafa Amodu, who lamented the way the campaign is being conducted without adequate security, warned that the security of the lives of ordinary Nigerians is paramount.
He said that those voters who are determined to ensure that the right candidate for power is elected, must ensure that their lives are protected.
He said that without voters there would be no elections and if the elections were to be free, fair and credible, their lives should be adequately protected.
We cannot just focus on election campaigns without looking at the security aspect of elections. Only when the souls of those who come to vote for us are protected will we enjoy free and fair elections.” He said
Mustafa Amodu called on the security personnel and the Kaduna State government to ensure the presence of security in all 23 Local Government Areas in Kaduna State before, during and after the general elections.
He said that the safety of lives is not only during the elections, but after the operation, so that those who lost will not take revenge on the winners.
