2023: I predict a new Nigeria after the elections – Tunde Bakary

The Citadel Global Community Church, CGCC Superintendent, Rev. Tunde Bakary envisions a new Nigeria after the upcoming general elections.

Bakari, who is also the organizer of Save Nigeria Group, SNG, said this during his State of the Nation Address, which also doubled as a New Year’s message, at the church’s headquarters in Lagos.

Bakary paid tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes on earth for the ultimate sacrifice they made to ensure the unity of Nigeria.

He also praised the military officers in the field for their bravery in combating terrorism and other forms of criminality in the country.

The former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said Nigeria is going into the upcoming elections with challenging issues.

According to him, the emergence of the three main presidential candidates from the three major ethnic nationalities of the country speaks volumes about how God shines his light in the midst of the prevailing darkness to make a new Nigeria.

The election comes 30 years after the aborted June 12 election, and this will be a reminder of a generational change of sorts.

“God has come out in all his majesty to re-engineer Nigeria into a new one that people will once again be proud of. It is time for divisive leaders to take advantage of the country.”

The cleric, who spoke of the possibility of some politicians trying to manipulate the upcoming elections, called on Nigerians to beware of vote-buying.

However, he was pleased that none of the presidential candidates had a military background, saying that it was an addition to the nation’s democracy.

Bakary urged Nigerians to cast their votes on the basis of personality rather than on sentiment, adding that the difference between politics and governance lies in providing services for the common good.

While praying for the good of Nigeria, he called the upcoming general election “Nigeria wins.”
