Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has vowed to expose and expose all oil thieves in Nigeria if he is elected president.
Atiku said that he is aware of those behind the oil theft in the country, hence he decided to expose them.
He made the pledge during an interactive session with the Business Dialogue stakeholder forum in Lagos on Saturday.
The former vice president also vowed to confiscate all idle oil blocks intended for some Nigerians.
He said: “If you do not intend to develop the oil blocks granted to you, we will take them away and give them to whoever develops them.
We will also collect the names of those involved in the theft of oil, publish them and prosecute them.”
The former vice president also vowed to privatize the country’s refineries to improve productivity.
Waziri Adamawa had earlier pledged to sell the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Ltd. if he was elected president.
Oil theft has been one of the major issues facing the sector.
