2023: Nigeria is driven by greedy individuals in the opposite direction – Liberal Party leader Musa Ogedei

Ahead of the 2023 general election, Labor leader Dr Moses Paul Ogedei insisted that Nigeria was being pushed in the opposite direction by greedy individuals.

Ogedei said this while speaking at an event titled “Good Governance YellOut 4 in Nigeria” on Friday in Abuja.

According to him, politics should be about people and how to make life easier and richer.

Ogedei, who is the organizer/coordinator of the group, said, “Politics should be about the people and how to make life easier and richer. It should recognize the interest of the people and work in ways that enable both individual and collective dreams to come true.

“Unfortunately, Nigeria has been pushed in the opposite direction by individuals and systems who, through greed, nepotism and incompetence, have overseen the impoverishment of the country with over 63% of Nigerians declaring themselves multidimensionally poor in 2022, according to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics.

“They have sowed tribalism, religious intolerance, violence, and bigotry in the sands of our homeland, turning poor and vulnerable Nigerians against each other and against the state, and weaponizing poverty in a cycle of frustration.”

He added, “The stories of the victims have been very unfortunate over the years with names pouring in from Chibok, Dapchi, Boni Yadi, Parkin Ladi, Zango Kataf, Agatu, Mobi, Nyanya and a host of other communities affected by the hands of terrorists. These are crimes committed by young people, many of whom have been deceived by the lies of a corrupt political system.”
