The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Conference (APC) has said its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, will win the 2023 presidential election and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, will retire to Dubai.
The Director of Media and Publicity, APC Presidential Campaign Board, Mr. Bayu Onanuga, stated this in a Facebook post on Sunday while responding to PDP spokesperson Dipu Ologonagba.
Addressing the press on Sunday in Abuja, Ologonagba quoted Article 137 of the 1999 constitution and demanded that Tinubu step down.
He claimed that under this ruling, Tinubu was ineligible to contest the presidential elections in Nigeria.
However, Onanoga challenged the main opposition party to appear in court, saying Tinubu is unstoppable and will run in next year’s elections.
He said the “fragmented and weak DPP” had turned itself into a defendant, prosecutor and judge asking Tinubu to withdraw from the presidential race.
“What a comedy!” said Onanuga, “and his call came after the release of the 30-year-old American document whose clients and media dogs were pervasive.”
Onanoga noted that the GPC now knows that the main opposition party and its candidate were behind the shameful slander campaign.
He added, “A. Ologunagba, stop dreaming!. Your party can go to court, if it so desires. But what we do know is that Asiwaju cannot be stopped, thank God. He will run and win the elections and take Atiku to Dubai and finally stop him from being chased.” The Presidential Cup is elusive.”
