As the 2023 presidential election heats up, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed assurances that its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will win the South West with a landslide victory.
According to the ruling party through its National Vice President (Southwest), Isaac Kikimiki, the APC will invade the entire six states within the region.
Speaking inside to reporters in Akure, the capital of Ondo state, Kikimeki stated that a split within the APC fold in the run-up to the 2019 elections saw the party lose to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo and Osun states in 2019.
Describing the PDP’s victory in the two states as “one chance”, Kekemeke emphasized that the APC is now one big family in the district, hence its willingness to secure a large number of votes for Tinubu.
We achieved an unprecedentedly significant gubernatorial victory in 2020 because the factors that held back our success in those states in 2019 no longer existed.
“So if they talk about 2019, a good sense of simple arithmetic equipment should make them remember Ondo 2020. They hold on to 2019 but they forgot about the 2020 election.”
APC National Vice Chairman said apart from the fact that Tinubu is from the southwest, he remains the most qualified of all the candidates vying for the country-filled job.
