Member of Parliament, Alassane Ado Dugua, made threats to members of his constituency to either vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC, on election day or deal with them.
The House majority leader is seeking to return to the House for a record seventh term.
He represents Dugwa/Todun-Wada Federal Constituency in Kano State.
The Daily Nigerian claimed to have obtained a videotape on Monday showing Dugwa issuing the threat at a political rally in Kano.
According to the report, Dugua mainly spoke Hausa, and also used abusive language to threaten potential voters.
“To the God who created me, on Election Day you must vote for the APC or we will deal with you.
“I say it again: On election day, you either vote for the APC, or we deal with you.
“Repeat after me, in Dugua you either vote for APC or we deal with you,” he said to applause from the audience.
