More than 28 people were killed on Sunday in fresh attacks in southern Kaduna.
The attacks took place in Malagom 1 and Sokoong communities in Kajuru chiefdom, Kawura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The daily posts indicate that Sunday’s attacks come about five days after around three people were killed by unknown gunmen in Malagum 1 village.
The council chairman also confirmed that in the Sokoong community, the attackers completely destroyed the houses, explaining that he is yet to confirm the death toll in Malagum 1.
According to the head of the council, “I urge the people of the area to remain calm as the security services are being deployed to conduct an investigation in the area and ensure that the perpetrators of the bloody attack face the full wrath of the law.”
Meanwhile, the Chief of Qawra Local Government Area, Mr. Atok Stephen confirmed that more than 22 people were killed in Malagum 1, saying that eight were killed in Sokong.
He called on the federal government and security agencies to redouble their efforts to curb the renewal of killings in the region, describing the attack on innocent people as deadly.
He lamented that the attacks in their area were consistent and multidimensional, with the efforts of the security and government elements he had not seen or felt.
DSP Mohamed Jellej, a state police public relations officer, could not be reached to confirm the incident.
