50 Cent to shoot a TV series on Hushpuppi

Rapper and movie and TV show producer, Curtis James Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent, has announced plans to make a TV series out of the story of convicted cyber crook, Ramon Abbas-Hushpuppi.

Jackson, who is best known for producing popular TV series such as Power, Power Book II, and Power Book III: Raising Kanan, among others, announced the announcement on his Instagram page on Wednesday night, writing: “For my scammers, I have to do this, Hushpuppy series soon glg🚦greenlightgang I don’t miss 🎯 #bransoncognac #LecheminduRoi #gunitfilmandtv”

Hushpuppi was recently sentenced to 11 years and three months in prison, which will remain in custody for another nine years after he has already spent two years behind bars. He was arrested for defrauding more than 1.9 million people, the majority of whom are Americans. He also pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Meanwhile, Nigerians following 50 Cent have expressed mixed feelings about the development. Musician and relationship counselor, Atewologun Laolu-Ogunniyi, aka Skukipeeshaun, wrote: “Sigh…I have mixed feelings! Nollywood how did we let this get away with us? Damn!” Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo also appealed to 50 Cent to allow a Nigerian actor to play the character.
