622: The NCC has designated a toll-free number as a hotline for presidential election incidents
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has dedicated the consumer toll-free number 622, to serve as the 2023 Presidential Election Incident Hotline to enable voters and members of the public across Nigeria to report any issues that may affect them, or others, during the elections on Saturday 25 February 2023.
This step is to support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in its national commitment, towards a hurdle-free election in Nigeria.
The free number 622 is a second-level complaints center through which consumers of telecom services are allowed to make direct calls to the authority, to resolve issues related to telecom services that service providers cannot do.
However, in view of the critical nature of these elections and to mitigate emerging problems that may arise at polling stations, or in any parts of Nigeria, the Commission has deemed fit to allocate the toll-free number 622 to accommodate all kinds of complaints on Election Day.
With the aim of solving such problems by communication and transferring them to the relevant agencies, authorities or organizations for timely resolution.
The 622 Election Incident Monitoring Center will be managed by the Senior Administrative Officers of the Nigerian Communications Commission. The hotline will be open to the public from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Therefore, members of the public are encouraged to make use of the Election Events Monitoring Center hotline, 622.
