Alleged withdrawal of security personnel among DSS Police – Gov Adeleke

The Osun State government has responded to the news that the Department of State Security (DSS) has withdrawn its personnel from Governor Ademola Adeleke’s security detail.

In a press release signed by the spokesperson for the governor, Ulawal Rasheed, the government indicated that the dispute was a minor one between the State Security Department and the Nigerian Police Force.

And the state government revealed that the matter had been communicated to the headquarters of the two security agencies for a decision.

“A report of the alleged withdrawal of security personnel from Governor Ademola Adeleke has been brought to the attention of the Osun State Government.

We want to make it clear that it is a minor disagreement between the officers of the Ministry of Government Service and the police.

The headquarters of the two security services have been informed of the matter to be resolved. “The issue is being settled,” the statement said.

The government has also assured the residents of the state that there is nothing to worry about as the governor is secure and governance is proceeding without hindrance.

A rumor spread on Saturday that the DSS had withdrawn its personnel from the security detail of the governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke.

According to unconfirmed reports, members of the State Security Department were withdrawn for insults in the line of duty.
