The United States sends at least 30 M1 Abrams tanks to the country at war, in reversal of the previous position.
Similarly, Germany agreed to send Leopard 2 tanks to support the troops on the front lines.
On Wednesday, Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the decision to send 14 tanks at a meeting of the Council of Ministers.
At a press conference, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that military equipment would be a waste of money.
Peskov said he was sure many experts “understand the absurdity” of the donations.
“The plan is disastrous… it overestimates the potential it will add to the Ukrainian army.
“These tanks burn like all the other tanks,” the official stressed.
Kyiv repeatedly asked Western tanks to break through the Russian lines and retake the occupied areas.
Last week, the Russian government accused America of trying to “contain” Moscow and China.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, “The West is trying to sow discord in our relations… We and China see all these games.”
