Anambra Elections: How We Rigged Polls in Soludo’s Favor – Man Claims

One of the suspects, Anthony Onuoha, who was arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command for car theft, on Thursday admitted to working with more than 30 election fraudsters during last year’s Anambra elections for Professor Charles Solodo.

Showcased along with other suspects, Onuoha alleged that they had been hired by General O’Shea to rig the gubernatorial election of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

The suspect claimed that they were given a car and fifty thousand naira after the elections.

According to him, “Last November, I was given a car after the election of Governor Solodu, because I was one of the thirty people who were kept in one place to work for APGA. We were promised to get a car and fifty thousand naira after the elections.”

“What attracted me to work for APGA was the car, not the fifty thousand naira. I went to Anambra State in November;

“The role I played there was that we were held in Awka North for the thumbprint on the ballot papers that day of the election. We did a thumbprint for the APGA candidate for governor, Charles Solodo, and we agreed that at the end of the day, we would get a car and fifty thousand naira, which they did.” .

“We are nine people who got a car out of more than thirty people who were employed for this job. They gave me this car and fifty thousand naira to fuel it.”

However, in a quick reaction, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Solodo, who spoke to the Daily Post through the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburim, said the suspect, Onuoha, should face the wrath of the law.

Solodu denied having any deal with the suspect during the recent Anambra state elections.

According to him, “Police have to be very indignant about the law against the suspect. We don’t know him, he’s just lying to get off the hook. He’s a common criminal and nobody knows him. Moreover, BVAS was used during last year’s elections in Anambra state. So, Where did they fingerprint?

“We don’t know him. We don’t know who he is. He must be a criminal and that’s why he’s in the police net. APGA won the election which was declared the freest and fairest election in Nigeria.”

“There was no such footprint in the Anambra elections. It was the BVAS that INEC published in that election. We don’t know that man, the governor of Anambra State doesn’t know him. And the APGA as a political party doesn’t know him. The man is alone and he has to face his cross and carry it,” he stressed. .
