Another attempt by agitators to raise the flag of Biafra in Bkasi was thwarted by the police

It was reported that a detachment of the Nigerian Police foiled another attempt by a suspected BnL group to raise the Biafra flag in the Ikbri-Ekang community of Bakassi LGA, Cross River State.

The incident occurred today around 3pm when the 32 BnL members were said to have gathered in a hideout, planning how to raise the flag, based on a tip-off from the police.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the instigators threw stones at the police before fleeing the scene.

They reported that policemen fired tear gas at members of the Biafra League of Nations, BnL.

BnL leader, Princewill Richards confirmed that the purpose was to raise their flag.

He said there is a militant wing of their group called The Black Wing but it does not meet in an open environment like the members of BnL.
He added that both groups know how to operate.

It is reported that the authorities have always prevented this group from flying their flag in Bakassi.

The NLA has often been involved in some hit-and-run attacks with Cameroonian forces and the Nigerian army in the Bakassi Peninsula, with casualties reported on both sides at times.
