Appiah APC denies Senator Kalu’s comment
All Progressives Congress, APC Orci Ozor Kalu denied Senator Orci Ozor Kalu’s comment, saying the alleged report was fake.
It was reported on Friday that Kalu, who is the former Governor of Abia State and the current President of the Senate, has been suspended by the APC’s Abia State branch.
Responding to the report, APC spokesperson for Abia State, Hon. Okey Ezeala called it the work of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to create confusion just hours before the elections.
The APC said it had clearly distanced itself from the report, insisting that Orji Ozor Kalu, who represents northern Abia district in the Senate, remains the party’s candidate in Saturday’s elections.
In the statement, Isela alleged that a paid agent of Kalu’s opponent, Mau Uhuaponua, was behind the report.
He added that the malicious writing was caused by the People’s Democratic Party’s fear of imminent defeat tomorrow.
He said, “It is not separated from the party and the party has no reasoning in this regard and there are no issues whatsoever to justify it. Chedi Avajah, the state chief, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbo or any executive party sitting or agreeing to issue such a letter.”
