Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the abduction of some students of LGEA Primary School, Alwaza, Alwaza Community, Duma Local Government Area of the state in the early hours of Friday.
DSP Rahman Nansel, a state police public relations officer who confirmed the incident, said a joint team of police, army and security men had been mobilized and sent on the trail of the kidnappers, who were reportedly on motorbikes.
A source also confirmed to the DAILY POST that the attack took place in the early hours of Friday.
He said an unspecified number of primary school children were taken away in the attack after it was reported that bandits laid siege while the children were going to school.
He said the whereabouts of the pupils and their captors remained unknown at the moment, but he also confirmed that security personnel had been dispatched to ensure that the pupils were safely rescued from the hands of their captors.
