Be calm, do not overreact to the election results – Charlie Boy urges young people
Charles Obuta, better known as “Charlie Boy,” called on Nigerian youth to remain calm and not overreact to the results of the 2023 elections announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Obata made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday at the Fountain of Unity in Abuja.
The artist, who spoke in response to the gathering of some young people at the Fountain of Unity, said that this was a protest against the allegedly fake election result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“Young people are gathering to protest the situation and the sham elections that just concluded.
“As a father to the area, I’m just here to make sure it’s peaceful and they’re doing the right thing.
“I believe in what they’re doing and I’m here to show support.
“The outcome of the election is the most phony, most upsetting, financial disaster given the money wasted in the practice of the federal government,” he said.
According to him, we cannot afford to be seen as overreacting because we know how the enemies will use that against us, so we need to use our heads.
Obuta expressed his satisfaction with the behavior of the Nigerian youth in the electoral process.
Mr. Isaac Palami, the organizer of the peaceful march, said the rally was to protest the results of the 2023 presidential elections released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
He said the Independent National Electoral Commission had broken the law and the peace agreement reached by the political parties by failing to keep their promises.
Blamey attributed the high turnout of voters across the country to the promises made by the Independent Electoral Commission that the elections would be transparent and that their votes would matter.
He alleged that INEC’s Bi-Mode Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) stopped working in the middle of an election when it discovered APC was losing the election.
Bellamy said that the failure to celebrate the victory of the GPC across the country was an indication that the outcome of the elections was not a reflection of the people’s choice.
