Brazil fears that Neymar will not play any more matches in the 2022 World Cup.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward is struggling to recover from a sprained ankle, UK Mirror reports.
Neymar started the opening match against Serbia, but was forced off in the second half after a huge challenge.
After undergoing an examination, the team’s medical department confirmed that Neymar would only miss the group stage.
The player was expected to return to the knockout rounds if the Seleçao managed to advance.
However, there are new concerns that Neymar’s injury could be worse than initially expected, and he may have suffered ligament damage.
Brazil are due to play their last-16 match on Monday or Tuesday, but the Paris Saint-Germain star is unlikely to feature in that, and may have just kicked his last ball in Qatar.
