Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus suffers an injury at the World Cup

The Brazilian striker, Gabriel Jesus, will not play another role in the 2022 World Cup, after suffering a knee injury during the 1-0 loss against Cameroon on Friday.

The 25-year-old made his first start in the competition but failed to find the net.

After the match, Jesus complained of sharp pain in his right knee, an area that had caused him major problems in the past.

According to Globo Esporte, Jesus underwent medical examinations after which it was determined that he would not participate again in the tournament.

But his absence is unlikely to be long-term.

Arsenal returned to Premier League action on Boxing Day against West Ham, and although that game likely comes too early for Jesus, he is reportedly targeting a return in early January.
