The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, in Izi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State caught fire.
The Daily Post has learned that the attackers flattened the building in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The chair of the Voter Information and Education Commission, Festus Okoye, confirmed this in a tweet.
The tweet quoted the Resident Commissioner of Ebonyi State, Onika Pauline Oguchi, as saying that the incident occurred at around 10 am.
While property and the building were destroyed, no injuries were recorded.
Some of the demolished properties included 340 ballot boxes, 14 generators, 130 voting booths, large water tanks, office furniture, and a large number of voter cards that were not confirmed at the time of the report.
INEC reports that this is the third attack on their facilities after offices in Ogun and Osun states were attacked on November 10, 2022.
