BREAKING: Presidential polls: INEC declares Obi a plateau victory

The Labor Party candidate, Peter Obi, has been declared the winner of the presidential election in Plateau State.

Obi won eleven of the state’s 17 local government areas, while Tinubu and Atiku won three in a row.

The Labor Party candidate won in Parkin Ladi, Riom, Jos East, Langtang North, Bocos, Mango, Bassa, Jos South, Shindam, Bankchin and Jos North LG, while the ruling APC candidate, Bola Tinubu, won in Wasi, Kaname . and Kanke LGAs and PDPs, Atiku Abubakar won Quaan Pan, Langtang South and Mikang LGAs.

State Officer Returning for the Presidential Elections Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman announced the results that the Labor Party candidate received 466,272 votes.

The candidate of the ruling APC, Tinubu received 307,195 votes, and Atiku of the People’s Democratic Party received 243,808 votes.

He commended all agents and other primary stakeholders for having acted in an orderly manner throughout the process, and urged them to do the same in subsequent elections.

In his remarks, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Oliver Agundo, commended the security services for their efforts in ensuring an obstacle-free exercise, and urged them to continue their support to the commission in its upcoming elections.

He also praised the media for its professional conduct in covering the exercise.
