Buhari is heading to Qatar to attend the United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries
Tomorrow, Saturday, President Muhammadu Buhari will head to Qatar to attend the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries.
Bukhari’s visit to the capital, Doha, comes after an invitation from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The once-in-a-decade conference will be held under the theme “From Potential to Prosperity” from March 5-9.
The summit will find solutions to issues of poverty, food insecurity, hunger, poor infrastructure, inadequate health facilities and climate change.
It obtains the support of the international community to accelerate sustainable development in the least developed countries and helps them make progress towards prosperity.
In his speech, President Buhari will stress the need for sustainable solutions for countries facing serious challenges.
It will reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to support such countries and highlight government assistance over the years.
The delegation includes ministers and other officials who sign some agreements and memorandums of understanding with the Qatari government.
Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu indicated that the president is expected to return to the country on Wednesday.
