Buhari lacks a clear understanding of the challenges of Nigeria – the leader of the APC, Momoni
Member of the Security and Intelligence Committee of the Tinubu/Shetema Presidential Campaign Council, Ambassador Abayomi Noreen Momoni, said President Muhammadu Buhari lacked a clear understanding of the challenges facing the country as a result of his comments on Thursday’s national broadcast.
Momoni said the content of the broadcast portrays Buhari as absent from current issues and challenges affecting the general well-being of the majority of Nigerians.
The 2011 ruling candidate of the now-defunct Congress Party for Progressive Change in Lagos State made the disclosures in a statement made available to the DAILY POST on Friday through his media assistant Rashid Abubakar.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in the early hours of Thursday addressed Nigerians about the scarcity of naira notes across the country.
But Momoni in his reaction said that President Buhari’s speech was meant to digest fools, not Nigerians in their senses.
The leader of the Progressive Congress (APC) party, who resented the president’s disregard for the Supreme Court’s ruling, claimed he was setting a dangerous precedent by making people feel that Supreme Court rulings should not be taken seriously by Nigerians.
Momoni argued that apart from the masses on the receiving end, politics are being applied to thwart Tinubu’s chances of winning the presidential election, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 25.
He then urged Nigerians not to take the laws into their own hands as the naira continued to be scarce.
Momoni said, “We are only worried about Nigerians, especially the masses when they receive them. Politics will not affect Asiwaju in any way. In this context, Asiwaju is coming and he will emerge victorious in the presidential elections.”
“As citizens, it will be in our interest to refrain from all forms of vandalism, theft and destruction of property belonging to the government and individuals, considering that it would be at the expense of the public good. There are better ways in which we can express our discontent. Whatever havoc we wreak is harmful to us.”
“Rhetoric becomes a flagrant violation of the laws of the land. Buhari’s statement clearly indicates that he does not understand the suffering and pain that Nigerians are going through or he does not have a single knowledge of what is going on in the country.”
“Most likely, his handler failed to hear, that there is a judgment of the supreme court of our land, the Supreme Court. Can anyone arrogantly respect any court of law anywhere in the world? Even the order of a lower court must be heeded, cut back on talking.” About the Supreme Court.
“FG’s insistence on deadline and ignoring the Supreme Court shows they have ulterior motives. The policy was not for the good of Nigerians but for selfish and sinister reasons. This should have been the policy to embark on in 2019 if there was good will and meaning about it.” Headline Buhari is mainly aimed at idiots to digest, not Nigerians in their senses
“The Supreme Court ruling restricts both the FG and the CBN. It is not advice, but an order of the Supreme Court. Failure to comply is a betrayal of the Nigerian Constitution. It sets a dangerous precedent by making people feel that Supreme Court rulings should not be taken seriously.”
