CAF Cup: Rivers United is ready to test ASEC Mimosas
Rivers United coach Stanley Ijeoma said his team is well prepared for the CAF Cup Group B match against ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire.
The second day’s match is scheduled for Sunday (today) at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The Nigerian champions made a disappointing start to their group stage campaign after losing 3-0 to Congolese side, the Diable Noires last weekend.
Rivers United desperately need a win to get their campaign back on track.
“We are expecting a very tough match and really, we have to be ready and work on perfecting our strategy,” Ijeoma said during his pre-match media interaction.
“We lost the last game because there were some errors and lapses in defense and we failed to convert our chances.”
ASEC Mimosas drew 0-0 with DR Congo club Motema Pembe in their first group match.
