Bashir Ahmed, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital Communications, has dared Kano State Governor Abdullah Omar Ganduji to take his old Naira notes to the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, if they are legitimate.
On Friday, Ahmed was responding to Ganduje, who had mistaken the naira redesign policy as a move to corrupt democracy and sabotage the upcoming general elections.
Gandouji also accused Buhari of introducing politics on the eve of the elections, saying he should have done so in the past seven years or after the elections.
However, in response to Ganduje and others, Ahmed said they should stop the excitement and take their old naira notes to CBN.
“Baba Dan Udu, President Baba Buhari has ordered you to take your money to CBN. You will receive an alert if the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and Nigeria’s Financial Intelligence Unit, NFIU determine that it is legitimate.”
