CBN naira policy: Lagos CP warns mischief makers, and vows to prosecute offenders

Police Commissioner, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has issued a warning to mischief makers to stop making trouble, vowing that anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law.

The warning came in a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hunden, on Friday.

Ouhunwa assured Lagos residents and visitors that the leadership will spare no effort to prevent a breakdown of law and order in the state.

“This warning has become necessary in the wake of attempts by some miscreants to take advantage of CBN’s monetary policy to unleash violence in some parts of the state,” he said.

According to him, anyone who finds a deficiency will be dealt with harshly according to the law.

He encouraged all law-abiding residents of Lagos to carry out their legal duties without fear of harassment or intimidation.

“The leadership has restored normalcy and ensured optimal deployment of human and operational resources in order to ensure their continued safety and security.”

The Chief of Police appreciated the good people of Lagos for always providing prompt and adequate information to the police.

He encouraged more, noting that partnership and trust had greatly assisted the leadership in controlling crime and criminality in Lagos and in immediately stabilizing the state security sphere.
