Correct me if I’m lying – Wike dares Ayu on N1billion of PDP

Rivers State Gov. Nisom Waik has dared the national chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Urcia Ayew, to sue him if he is innocent of the corruption charge against him.

Wike made the remarks while speaking at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium while raising the banner of the PDP campaigns nationwide on Saturday.

The governor and his allies demanded Ayu’s resignation, claiming it violated the party’s constitution which stipulates that the national president must come from the same district as the presidential candidate.

Ayo is from Benue in north-central, while Atiku Abubakar, the standard bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, hails from Adamawa in north-eastern Nigeria.

Wike also alleged that Ayu received N1billion from a presidential candidate and another N100million from a governor for a project already paid for by the party.

But Ayo denied both claims.

However, upon raising the flag, Wike said: “No one will listen to a campaign led by a corrupt man. Ayo is corrupt. People are getting rivers. Ayo, you fight corruption, how do you fight corruption? You said you took N1bn. I told you, you took the money we realized from the election.” Preliminary Ayo sues me!

“You can’t fight Rivers State and get released.

“Ayo, you cannot lead me or Rivers State to any campaign, because you are so corrupt.”
