Aminu Muhammad, a final year student at Federal University, Dutse, has apologized to the First Lady, Ayesha Buhari for criticizing her.
Muhammad said in a tweet in Hausa that Aisha was feeding on the money of the poor.
He was arrested by the security men and brought to trial before Supreme Court No. 14.
However, Aisha Friday withdrew the case against Aminu Adamu Muhammad.
Prosecution counsel, Fidelis Ogbobe, said the withdrawal followed the intervention of well-meaning Nigerians.
Writing on his Twitter page on Sunday, Mohammed said he had no intention of hurting her feelings.
“I would also like to use this medium to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who helped me go through the darkest hours of my life, man cannot escape his fate but my time should serve as a lesson to all of us. Thank you all and love one.
I would like to use this medium to express my sincere apologies to those who have hurt our mother, Aisha Buhari. It was not my intention to hurt your feelings, and God willing, I will change for the better. However, I am also grateful for your forgiveness, thank you Mama.”
