Remember Late Chinonsu Elum hailing from Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo in Ohaukwu LGA, Ebonyi State was murdered on Sunday 5th February 2023 by unknown gunmen.

The statement reads in part; “The heads of the indigenous ecclesiastical communities gathered at the Wailing Prayer Breakfast to lament the mass killing of innocent lives in Negbolizia which is increasing daily at a very high rate.

“We fully condemn the heinous killing of Mr. Chenonso Elume of Omogodo Akbo Ngbo on Sunday the 5th of February 2023 and all other killings that took place in Ngopolitsia.

The Christian leaders condemn in their entirety the violent and recurring crisis that erupts in Negopolisia. We also condemn the situation in which some leaders in Ngbolijia abuse their position by seducing some of our youth into faith and using them as foot soldiers to execute murder and other forms of evil.

Church leaders warned the perpetrators of the killings in Ngbolijia to urgently repent of their wickedness or prepare to face God’s curse and wrath.

“We call on the government and security agencies to ensure that all persons directly or indirectly involved in the killing of Mr. Chenonso Elume and all others must openly face the wrath of the law and those who have not yet been arrested should be arrested to go to court for what they have committed.

Church leaders alleged that the killers of the late Chenonso Elum were transported by a vehicle bearing the All Progressive Congress, APC logo, and called for further investigation into the matter.
