Election 2023: ‘Bad for the PDP in two ways’ – Keyamo reacts to OBJ’s endorsement of Peter Obi
Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson Tinubu Chitema, Festus Kyamo, has responded to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of Labor’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Obasanjo had announced in his New Year’s message, Sunday, his support for the Labor Party candidate, saying that he has an advantage over his counterparts in other parties.
In response, Keyamo said in a tweet on his official Twitter account that the former president has the right to endorse any candidate of his choice.
But the Minister of State for Labor and Employment, dealt with the presidential candidate of the HDP, Atiku Abubakar, saying that Obasanjo does not trust his former deputy.
The tweet reads: “OBJ’s right to endorse absolutely anyone, but it’s bad for the PDP in two ways: 1, former Atiku chief doesn’t think he deserves to be president this time
“2. The little support OBJ gave to PDP in 2019 and they failed, took that away to LP. No impact whatsoever on @officialABAT.”
It is reported that the presidential candidate of the ruling Progressive Congress Party, Bola Tinubu, met earlier last year with Obasanjo, seeking the support of the former president for his political ambition.
