The Labor Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, secured the highest votes in Saturday’s presidential election in Nasarawa state.
Obi received a total of 191,361 votes in the contest defeating his closest rival, Mr. Ahmed Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, who got 172,922 votes, and Mr. Atiku Abubakar of the HDP, who got 144,093 votes.
The results of the presidential election were compiled and announced by the counting officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nasarawa State, Professor Ishaya Tanko.
Tanko, Vice-Chancellor of University of Jos, Plateau State, said the NNPP presidential candidate received 12,715 votes.
