The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Ibrahim Mohamed Bebernin Kebbi, Kalgo and Bonza Federal District the winner of the February 25 elections in Kebbi.
The returning officer, Professor Adamu Aliu, made the remark in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
He said the Democratic Progressive Party candidate received 50,783 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mukhtar Bonza, of the Congress Progressive Party, who received 37,476 votes.
Likewise, Yakubu Bello of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) received 7,884 votes.
“I, Professor Adamu Aliyu, hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the 2023 Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo, Ponza Federal Constituency elections held on the 25th day of February 2023.
He said, “The elections were contested and Ibrahim Muhammad of the Democratic Progressive Party, after he fulfilled the requirements of the law, was declared a winner and returned elected.”
