Election results: Tinubu defeats Atiku to win Borno
The candidate of the Progressive Congress Party (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, won the presidential election in Borno State.
Borno is the home of the APC vice-presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shetema.
Tinubu was declared the winner of the election at the State Assembly Center on Tuesday.
The state coordinating officer, Federal University Vice-Chancellor Wukari, announced that Tinubu scored 252,282 points to defeat all other candidates.
It was announced that the candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, had received 190,921 votes. In contrast, the New Nigerian People’s Party candidate, Rabio Moses Kwankwaso, and the Labor Party candidate, Peter Obi, received 4,626 and 7,205 votes, respectively.
