On Thursday, the Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar III, gave Nigerians a hint about the candidates to vote in the 2023 general election.
The President General of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) advised them to vote only for leaders of respectable character.
Alhaji Abubakar gave the advice while addressing participants at the 29th meeting of the National Council for Water Resources (NCWR) in Sokoto.
The country’s Muslim leader appealed to the electorate to use their votes wisely.
The Sultan stressed that Nigerians should think and re-think about the flag-bearers for whom they will vote.
“We should not take into account the religious or ethnic backgrounds of any body we are voting for except Nigeria First.
“Our country should be our priority and not vote for anyone who might exacerbate our current challenges,” Nunn said.
In terms of security, the Honorable King stated that Nigeria is “much better than many countries”.
But the traditional rulers asked for office-holders to pray that they would be able to handle the problems.
