Elon Musk became the first person in history to lose $200 billion
Tesla chief and Twitter owner Elon Musk, formerly the world’s richest man, has broken a new record as he becomes the first person to lose $200 billion in net worth in human history.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Musk was the second person with more than $200 billion in personal wealth after Amazon’s Jeff Bezos.
Musk’s wealth has reportedly plummeted to $137 billion after the recent drop in Tesla shares which includes a massive 11 percent drop on December 27.
Tesla is now offering US consumers a $7,500 discount on two of the two larger models before the end of the year.
Remember, Musk’s fortune exceeded $340 billion in November 2021, making him the richest person in the world for more than a year in the long run.
Twitter’s new owner was passed over in December 2022 by Bernard Arnault, the French business magnate and co-founder of luxury goods powerhouse LVMH.
