Arsenal legend Ray Parlor has slammed Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga over the Blues’ recent defeat by Fulham in the Premier League.
Graham Potter’s side suffered another devastating defeat on Thursday night when they lost 2-1 to London rivals Fulham.
He believes Azpilicueta, Chelsea’s longest serving player and very experienced defender should have done better to stop Fulham’s first goal of the night.
“For the first goal, you have to say Cesar Azpilicueta has to shut it down a little bit faster,” he said on talkSPORT.
“He should go out faster and stop the shot… I thought that was a bad mistake.
“The second goal is a great ball but the goalkeeper is in no man’s land. I don’t know what Kepa is doing there. He’s out of position.”
Chelsea receives Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge this weekend, where it hopes to return to the winning ways after the shocking defeat by Fulham, which kept it in tenth place in the standings, 10 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
