Manchester United legend Gary Neville has lashed out at defender Luke Shaw, saying the England international’s performance in their 7-0 win over Liverpool was a disgrace.
Manager Erik ten Hag’s side were helpless during Sunday’s Premier League game as they were dented by a rejuvenated Reds from a poor run of form.
United conceded just one goal before half time, but the second half opened the floodgates for goals as Liverpool scored six more times in a ruthless and clinical display.
Manchester United were gritty and unlucky in defence, and Neville felt that Shaw, who is usually excellent, was one of the biggest offenders.
“Luke Shaw has had the worst game I’ve seen in a long time, and I think he’s been fantastic this season. He told The Gary Neville Podcast:
“It should be a one-off. This should be something that is just taken as something we never see again.”
