Enugu pilgrims complete their pilgrimage to the Holy Land, arriving in Nigeria on December 24

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrimage Commission, Reverend Yakubu Bam, congratulated the Enugu Troupe in the Holy Lands of Israel and Jordan for their successful pilgrimage exercise.

This came in a statement signed by Sunday Celestine Toroka, deputy director and head of the center’s media and public relations department, on Sunday.

The congratulatory statement followed the safe arrival of all Enugu pilgrims on December 24, 2022, at Akano Ibeam International Airport, Enugu.

The 300 pilgrims arrived at the airport from the Holy Land at 9:30 pm local time.

Remember, the Committee stopped the December 2022 pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan two weeks ago in Enugu.

“The pilgrims of Enugu have shown good behavior in the Holy Land, and their safe and complete arrival should be commended,” said Rev. Pam.

The cleric indicated that no pilgrims had fled while in the Holy Land, saying that the committee’s goal of not pilgrims fleeing was fruitful.

He also thanked the Executive Secretary of the Enugu State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Council, Bar Nestor Ezime and the Palestinian National Welcome Center, for providing logistical support to the pilgrims while they were in the Holy Land.

The cleric said he hoped that subsequent batches of willing pilgrims would emulate the good example set by the Enugu pilgrims.

Rev. Pam further confirmed that the committee would continue to make the pilgrimage participatory in the coming year noting that the well-being of the pilgrims could not be compromised.
