EPL: Misbehave While You’re Out – Fernandes backs Ten Hag on Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes appears to have endorsed coach Erik ten Hag’s decision regarding Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting that the team needs great discipline.

He said the Dutchman had brought more stability and discipline to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is no longer a Manchester United player and is currently a free agent after terminating his contract with the former English Premier League champion shortly before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Red Devils beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the Premier League on Tuesday and are now just four points behind second-placed Newcastle with a game in hand.

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Fred were the scorers that night.

Fernandes could refer to Ronaldo’s refusal to be called-up against Tottenham earlier this season, and he gave an explosive interview last month with Piers Morgan.

“We’re now finding a coach who probably gave us stability,” he told NBC Sports.

“Also a great system. That was something that, to me, was huge on our team that we needed…

“But I think in our team we were missing a little bit of that, but now everybody understands that you do whatever you have to do or you’re out there.”
