Kelechi Iheanacho revealed he managed to score the winning goal for Leicester City against Gillingham on Saturday afternoon.
Iheanacho’s 56th-minute goal was the difference in a tight game at Priestfield.
The 26-year-old finished off Leicester’s attack with a sweet left-footed strike.
The Nigeria international has struggled to get a regular start at Leicester City this season but has proved his class for manager Brendan Rodgers.
“It’s just an instinct as a striker. People were already around the box so Vardy was running in the center forward position, I was thinking he might cut it again, so I just waited on the edge of the box to cut and then he came for me and I was done. I thought he might cut it,” Iheanacho told the club’s official website. Again then the ending was beautiful.”
The striker has now scored 16 goals in 22 matches in the UAE Football Cup.
