Flutterwave is partnering with Africa Fintech Summit as the main sponsor
The Africa FinTech Summit has announced that Flutterwave is the title sponsor of the Africa Fintech Summit in 2023 to be held in Washington, D.C. on April 12, 2023 and in one African city, to be announced in November 2023.
This sponsorship follows Flutterwave’s latest licenses issued in Egypt, allowing the company to be an official payment services provider in Egypt and expand its presence in the MENA region.
Since its inception in 2016, the Flutterwave team has been on a mission to create endless possibilities for clients and businesses in Africa and emerging markets, to date processing over 400 million transactions worth over $25 billion to date in 34 countries in Africa.
It also follows a year of rapid growth for the brand, which now serves more than 1,000,000 businesses worldwide.
Flutterwave founder and CEO Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola said the leading technology company is thrilled to be the title sponsor of this year’s AFTS event.
“We believe that the AFTS Network has been instrumental in developing and shaping the fintech industry in Africa and that Flutterwave has been an active enabler of ecosystem growth.
“We are always excited to work with the Africa Fintech Summit team to engage stakeholders and partners who help us create endless possibilities. We are excited about all this opportunity it provides as we continue our vision of connecting African countries through payments.”
“It is with great gratitude and pleasure that we welcome back Flutterwave as the main fintech sponsor for the April and November summits this year,” said Zacharias Amsalou, AFTS Co-Founder and MD at Ibex Frontier.
“Flutterwave has been and continues to be an influential, progressive and innovative FinTech company enabling the vast FinTech ecosystem in Africa and beyond and demonstrating the Africanization of Tech on its global growth trajectory.”
Since its first summit in 2018, the Africa Fintech Summit has become the largest bi-annual fintech gathering on the African continent.
In addition to Flutterwave’s sponsorship, AFTS will be supported by a variety of partners and sponsors.
The ninth edition of AFTS will focus on regulatory best practices in fintech, diaspora banking and remittances, expansion of African fintechs globally, cross-border payment movements and use cases for decentralized finance (Defi).
Others are fintech financing trends, cross-border payments under the African Continental Free Trade Area, tech connections between the US and Africa, and many other high-profile topics.
