Three people, including the uncle of UPA spokesperson Ikenga Ugochinyere, were killed following an armed attack on his home in Akukwa, Idyato North Local Government Area of Imo State.
Ikenga disclosed the attack in an SOS message he sent to Deji Adeyanju, a social critic.
“We need Akkowa’s help…we are under attack…my house is in Akkowa…they have surrounded it and shot.
Emphasizing the development, Omoyele Sowore said that Ikenga Imo’s uncle had been killed and demanded that securitymen protect the opposition spokesperson at all costs.
“I have just received a distress call from IkengaImo in the last few minutes that his house is surrounded by elements believed to be killers sent by the Imo State government, and that his uncle has just been murdered.
“Security agents must protect IkengaImo from CUPP and ensure his complete safety!” Sower said.
According to a source from the area, the archers, who came in large numbers, were confronted in a fierce duel by the orders of Ogoshnir’s police, who prevented them from reaching him.
However, his uncle who lives nearby was said to have been caught in the fire, along with two others who have not yet been identified.
It was also reported that the gunmen set fire to some of the houses inside the house, including the cars.
