FREAKING: APC Incites Violence, Orchestrate Postponement of Nigerian Elections – Atiku
The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has raised the alarm over plans by elements of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cause violence in some states.
The former vice president said the plot was aimed at forcing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone Saturday’s elections.
Atiku added that the alternative plan was to have a staggered election so that elections are not held simultaneously across the country.
A statement issued Thursday night by the Special Assistant for Public Communications, Frank Shippo, warned that failure to hold elections on the same day nationwide “is tantamount to inviting fraud.”
Chipu said there was serious unrest during the day in Kunar Dangora on the outskirts of Kano state “where the Armed Forces of the Philippines are in control”.
“They really started with violence like they did in 2019, forcing a replay and then using violence to win. We also have good authority that this will happen in Borno, Yobe and Kaduna.
“Kaduna, in particular, should be singled out because the governor, Nasir al-Rifai, has been urging his people to disobey President Muhammadu Buhari.”
Shibo noted that Al-Rifai has been running from column to column ever since the federal government thwarted his plan to release old naira notes to voters.
The statement commended the police for arresting and summoning Hon. Ephraim Nowzi.
The APC leader was caught on video discussing plans to attack election officials in the state.
The DPP candidate has asked the police not to leave any stone unturned before the election, particularly in Rivers, “which is one of the most troubled areas during the election.”
Atiku commended the deployment of security personnel in Lagos Local Government Areas such as Oshodi/Isiolo, Amou Odufin, Iti Osa, Ikorodu, Ogo, Ajiromi/Evlodun and Surulere to “prevent intimidation and fraud”.
The statement advised police to pay close attention to what Ebonyi, Cross River, and Imo states “where the stewards are intent on doing anything possible to ensure Tinubu gets the 25 percent requirement.”
