Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni commended President Muhammadu Buhari and members of the Federal Executive Council for approving the construction of 132 kV substations in Ngoro and Gedam Local Government Areas to boost power supply in the northern part of the state.
This came in a statement issued today, Thursday, by his spokesperson, Muhammad Boni, and made available to reporters.
According to the governor, the Federal Executive Council approved the projects in its meeting yesterday, adding that the substations will improve the quality of life in the border communities.
He noted that communities in the northern part of the state are very enterprising, with strong businesses that could improve with improved electricity supplies.
Bunye emphasized that the move will also create jobs and create wealth in the region and, by extension, the country as a whole.
“The Buhari administration has given the people of Yobe State a sense of belonging and we really appreciate that,” said Bunye.
Then he called on the people of the state to continue supporting the Buhari-led administration for more democratic gains.
