He could react to the murder of a Catholic priest, Fr. Isaac Achi
Nigerian Christian Association, CAN sympathizes with the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria and all the Catholic faithful in the country over the gruesome murder of Rev. Fr. Isaac Achi.
Ashi was the parish priest of St Peter and Paul Church, Kavin-Kourou in Baikoro Local Government Area, Niger State, a few days ago and was buried on Friday.
The Christian High Commission noted that Ashi died at a time when the community needed him most.
“His death is a sad development at a time when his parishioners and therefore other Christians in the country can benefit most from his leadership and sense of direction,” said a statement signed by Archbishop Daniel C. Okoh, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
However, the CAN organization appealed to the authorities to improve the internal and external security framework to stop the future recurrence of such incidents that led to the Fr. Ashi’s sudden demise.
The Christian body prayed for the soul of the departed in complete peace.
