The Brazilian legend, Rivaldo, has insisted that Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo does not need the money that his new club, Al-Nassr, will pay him.
Rivaldo said this while giving his verdict on Ronaldo’s recent move to victory.
According to him, the amount that the former Manchester United striker is set to earn in Al-Nasr, even at the age of 37, shows his importance in world football.
It is noteworthy that Ronaldo was officially revealed as the victory player earlier this week.
Speaking to Betfair, Rivaldo said: “Cristiano Ronaldo finally signed with Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia and it was interesting to hear that he had offers from all over the world, including Brazilian clubs.
He continued, “Anyway, I think his decision to move to Saudi Arabia was the right one if we consider the value of the contract which is in some way a tribute to his brilliant career. Of course, he doesn’t need that money, but it is always nice to be recognized for your efforts.” And this is like a kind of coronation for a great player who has now reached the last steps of his beautiful career as a player.”
